The last day in Iceland. So good, so sad.

Today, 8th November, we met at school at 8:15 am. It was very rainy and windy, so we stayed at school speaking Spanish with some students that are learning Spanish.

When it stopped raining we went to an outdoor musem. The museum was about how was the life in the old Icelandic houses, so we visited some old houses. After that, we went to a swimming pool and we had lunch there.

After having lunch we went to the school because we had to meet with the Icelandic people to go home and make the bags for tomorrow.

When it was time for having dinner we went to one of the Icelander's house to stay all together and spending our last moments in Iceland with the whole group.

Today was the last day, so first of all we met together at the school where we helped Spanish students from Verzlo making them speak Spanish, it was so funny!

Then we went to the museum of the first houses of Reijkavik and it was so interesting. Later on we went to the school which was the last time we went there and we had free afternoon so we went to the shopping centre where I had a great time.

SEE YOU SOON!

The south coast of Iceland. What an amazing day!!!

Today, 7th November, we started the day very early. We woke up at 5:40 more or less because we had to be in the school at 6:40 am to start a long and cold adventure trought the south coast of Iceland.

We have done this trip in a bus. So, we have been all the day visiting some places of the Iceland's landscape while we were also travelling inside the bus.

The different Icelandic lanscapes that we have visited are the followings: two waterfalls, the black beach, a lava landscape and the Glacier lagoon where we have sailed in a boat trought it. It has been fantastic!!!
All of them had been amazing and very special!

It's difficult to describe what we have seen today. There are no words to describe all these magnific nature landscapes. How can the nature create all of these? It is quite difficult to believe; but yes, there are some landscapes around the world that are spectacular, and today we have visited some of them. So, if you want to feel what we have felt today, I recommend to you go once in your life to Iceland. It will be very succesful and impactant. But, if you don't have the opportunity of visiting Iceland, we have taken lots of photos during all the trip to show you our moments. They are very special!

However, we have had bad weather today. During all the day it has been raining and it was foggy and cold, so we have seen the nature landscapes in not the best conditions.
At the end, all of us have finished wet and very cold.

Finally we have had dinner in a restaurant and then, at 8 pm we have returned to Reikiavic. After four more hours on the bus, at 12 pm we arrived into the city to return with our Icelandic host families and go to sleep.

Although this trip has beenvery long and quite tiring, it has been worth it. We are very impressed and happy about all these wonderful places of Iceland that we have seen today.

Today was an amazing day. The cold and rain couldn't spoil the illusion to see these beautiful and wonderful landscapes that we find in Iceland.

One of the most impressive things we've seen were the waterfalls and we were also amazed by all the colourfull views that we have seen.

Then we went to visit the impresionant beach that where there are very big and dangerous waves, but it's very relaxing to see them. One of the curiosities of this beach was that arena is black and especially the cave, that is covered by immenses natural black columns.

And finally we visited the glaciers which was what we expected the most to see . When I saw them I was shocked because I was very excited to see the icebergs and when I saw them I thought It wasn't real. Some of us have travelled by boat to see better the glaciers. It was fabulous!

This journey is one of the best experiences that I've ever had.

An icelandic Sunday

First, we drove to a farm where we ate home-made ice cream and milkshakes. Everything was made of the milk from the farms' cows.

Later, we went to the geysers and there we found some of the catalan students with their exchange partners.

After that, we all went together to a waterfall that was amazingly beautiful.

We had dinner and went to a friends' party. We stayed there for about an hour and then we met the other exchange students in a fast-food restaurant in Reykjavík.

On Saturday, John and I  woke up in Karen's summer house in the middle of the countryside. We feeded the horses and we took the car for starting the journey.

First we stopped at the Secret Lagoon, a place very similar to the Blue Lagoon but smaller and contains warmer water.

Then we returned to take the car to start the Golden Circle route where we saw waterfalls, geysers, farms and the separation of tectonic plates. On the way, we went eating typical products of Iceland and listening to Spanish music.

Finally we went to have dinner at home and we went through the center of the capital and we visited several homes of Icelanders.

In conclusion, I'd say that it has been a very interesting and fun day!

Saturday morning we went to visit the Golden Circle, I think is one of the most impressive things I've seen in my life, I was shocked.

We went there with my friend julia and our Icelandic friends and there we met more people from the group. We first went to see the rivers, the parliament, then we took the car and stopped for lunch at a fast food frankfurt.

After that we went to see the Geysers and it was very nice to see how they throw hot water. Then we went to see the waterfalls which impressed me more, they were very beautiful and we took many pictures because this landscape is not normal to see it every day. I like it a lot Iceland , especially the kind of life they have and I'm really satisfied with this trip.

The last Sunday was very fun!
I went with my Icelandic family to have a hot dog for lunch together and after lunch we went to visit pingvellir, this place is a very nice place.  I stayed very good with them, we took some photos together and we passed a good time.

After the visit of pingvellir we went home and we had dinner together, and after dinner my Icelandic partner and I met the other Spanish and Icelandic friends and all of us went to play lasser guns and we passed a very fun time. After this, I went to do an ice cream before going home.

I woke up in the morning around 10:00 o’clock. For breakfast, I ate bacon and pancakes with syrup and some orange juice. It was brilliant. Alex, my host in Iceland was still sleeping and when he woke up, me and his family were planning to go for a ride and explore the “Golden Circle”. I was looking forward to it and I was in the front seat while Alex was sitting at the back with his sisters. First destination was “Kerið”. Then “Geysir” and there I caught a great slow motion video of the stroke when it came up. In the Geyser restaurant,  we ate icelandic traditional meat-soup.

We went then to “Gullfoss” and I took a lot of pictures there and Míló Alexander´s dog was out with us. The view we had at the waterfall was beautiful and some of the landscape was also covered in snow. In the shop near Gullfoss I bought some postcards for my mom, a cap and a hot coffee. When I was at home Alex had a hottub where we chilled in for one hour or something just chatting about Catalonia and the social life in our schools.

We ate a very good chicken with salad. After dinner, Maggi picked us up and we played Lazertag with all the Icelanders. We were like thirty people or something and my team won. At evening Alex was going to let me try bowling for the first time ever but everything was full in the bowling center so we maybe go later. Instead we ate Icelandic icecream called Bragðarefur and went home to Alex at the time 10:30. And we were eight people meeting at his home. At the end of the day I played fifa with Alex and lost the game 6-0. Good night!

Then we met with other friends into the second hand market of the city and we visited the place.
Finally, we went to a night club where we had a drink and we could listen to typical Icelandic House music.

Then we took the bus and I stayed at Anna's house and I ate dinner there because my Icelandic girl had to study. When we finished we went to the bowling with other friends and when we finished we went to ate an ice cream. Finally we went home because tomorrow we are going to get up really early.

Political history of Iceland and Blue Lagoon expirience

Friday morning, we arrived at school at 08:00 o'clock and we went all together to visit the Parlament of Iceland, where a guide told us when it was built and why icelandic people made it.
The next visit we did, was to the History Museum of Iceland, where another guide told us about the history of icelandic people.

When the visit finished, we went to school to have lunch, and some of us, played a football match with the icelantic guys.

At 17:00, we went to the Blue Lagoon with our icelantic hosts, and we had a great time swimming and having fun all together into the hot and blue water of this place.
At 20:30, we went dinner with our hosts in different places of the city, and then, we all had a great time with them, before going home.

Soon, we went home and we slept quickly because we were so tired!

Today, we have been to the downtown to visit the parliament and the national museum "Þjóðminjasafnið". When we were  getting back to school the bus left us in the street because it was its last stop and we had to catch another one!

We arrived to school and had lunch. After that, we played football with the icelandic students.
Later on, we went to Blue Lagoon and we had fun together.

The Blue Lagoon was excellent, there we solidified our friendship between Icelandic and Spanish students, who we still didn't know very well.

I think that it was a good idea to go there.

One day in Reikjavík

Today was a fantastic day!  First of all, we went to the school and they showed us the facilities of the building. Some students were invited to taste a shot of cod oil (oli de bacalla!). Then we took the bus and we went to the downtown where first of all we made a game which consisted in taking photos of the important and signifcant buildings of the city. Later on, we had lunch and we tasted the best hod dogs in the world!

Finally, we went to the waterfront of Reikiavik where visited the Harpa which is the national auditorium, and then we took some photos of the Vikings' ship momunent.

Post written by Marc Mirada

Today has been our second day in Iceland.
In the morning we got up and we had some breakfast and then we left home to be at school at 8:10. When all of us arrived, we took the bus to Reikiavik downtown. There teachers had planed a game which consisted in searching some important places like a library or some churches around or a lake that was near from where we were (no one had time to find all of them).

As well as the game was finished, we went to a hot dog stand, but it wasn't like the others, Bill Clinton has been there eating a hot dog during an official visit to the country!
After that we went to a building called Harpa  which was amazing. I think it is all made of windows and at night all lights turn on in blue and it's very beautiful.

When we went out from the Harpa we went out from the Harpa we went to a statue of a viking ship, but if teachers hadn't told me that, I wouldn't have guessed it. But it has been funny and we got lots of pictures.

When we got all the photos done, we took the bus and we went back to school, where each student has done a typical dish from Iceland and we have eaten them all, it tasted very good!
Finally we went back home with our icelandic friend!

It has been a great day! Tomorrow more and better!

It has been the second day and it has been better than the first.
In the morning we walked around the city centree and we played a game to discover the emblematics monuments and important places of this beatyful city.

After lunch we visited the Harpa that it's a music auditorium and also the monument of the vikings where we took a picture of the whole group.
In the afternoon, it has become a little different, we went to the shoping center in front to the verzlo school and we had dinner there. I really like the start of this wonderful expirience.

Segon dia d'activitats

My first day in Iceland

My first day in Iceland has been very good. When we arrived at the airport, my exchange partner Thorhildur was waiting me. We went to the school and there the director greeted us.

After that, we went to the swimming pool, where I'm still fascinated. How is it possible that we were at 4° and wearing only a swimsuit and we weren’t cold at all? The answer is to be in the water. It was about 40°!! I'm really impressed, and the water relaxed me so much.

Then, we took a bus and we returned to the school where Thorhildur collected me to go home. There, I unpacked all my belongings and we went to the supermarket to buy some food for the breakfast. After that, we stayed at home talking about interesting points like politics or climatic change, and then her mum arrived at home. We stayed with her while she was preparing dinner. The food was good! I've eaten rice and chicken with tomato. Now,  I'm going to go to sleep because I'm very tired.
